The challenge

A first within OLX Group

Aasaanjobs joined OLX Group, and their whole digital workplace had to come along. Slack, Okta, AWS, ServiceNow, GitLab and Zoom had already been migrated; what was left was the hardest one: Google to Google.

That had never been done inside OLX Group before. With 647 users, their mail, their calendars and all of their Drive content, there was no room for trial and error.

The approach

Three months of preparation, one night of execution

We worked with the local teams at Aasaanjobs and OLX Group on a project plan, and carried out every step of it with them:

  • mapping all existing systems, to keep the email flow running during the migration;
  • finding a way to migrate Google Drive as well, preserving sharing settings and link references;
  • understanding the existing Google Workspace environment: security policies, org units, the size of each user's Drive, and logins to third-party applications;
  • running the migration with the BitTitan migration tool;
  • driving engagement across 600+ users so everyone knew what was coming and what we needed from them.

As always, preparation was key: about three months of planning and testing before anything actually moved.

The impact

The next morning, without a hiccup

The migration ran with no disruption to email or calendars. Everything happened overnight, and the next day all Aasaanjobs users could log in with their brand new OLX.com accounts — without any hiccups.

Since then they have had the OLX identity, increased Drive capacity, additional Google Workspace functionality and a higher level of security. Both NextNovate and OLX Group look back on a good collaboration.
